The EU and India have launched two major initiatives under .
The EU-India Trade and Technology Council, investing €41 million (₹394 crore) to tackle marine pollution and develop waste-to-renewable hydrogen technologies. Co-funded by the EU's Horizon Europe programme and Indian ministries (MOES and MNRE), the first initiative targets marine plastic pollution, while the second focuses on cost-effective hydrogen production. These calls, open to researchers and start-ups, aim to foster joint innovation and sustainable solutions. Submission deadlines are September 2 for hydrogen and September 17 for marine pollution. Further collaborations on EV battery recycling and wastewater treatment are planned for 2026.
