NTPC to Invest ₹80,000 Crore in Telangana’s Renewable Energy Drive.

NTPC Limited has expressed its commitment to invest ₹80,000 crore in Telangana’s renewable energy sector, focusing on solar, wind, and other green projects. Chairman and Managing Director Gurdeep Singh, leading an NTPC delegation, met Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, highlighting the state’s potential to generate 6,700 MW through floating solar projects. The CM assured full government support for the investments. Earlier, Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka met Union Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar to seek approvals for intra-state transmission projects under the Green Energy Corridor–Phase 3. Initially, renewable energy zones with 13.5 GW capacity were identified across five districts, later revised to 19 GW across eight districts after consultations and feasibility reviews. TG Transco has submitted proposals for eight transmission schemes, capable of evacuating 19 GW of power, at a cost of ₹6,895 crore. This investment marks a significant step toward Telangana’s ambition to become a renewable energy powerhouse.
