The Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana 2.0, providing daytime electricity to 2.14 lakh farmers, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced. With a target of 16,000 MW by 2026, this will become the world's largest decentralized solar project. The scheme, launched in April 2023, involves Rs 65,000 crore in private investment and will create 70,000 rural jobs. Solar power will be supplied to Mahavitaran at Rs 3 per unit, reducing state subsidies and cross-subsidy burdens on industries. The initiative has earned multiple national awards and praise from the central government. Fadnavis emphasized efficient implementation and inaugurated a single-window portal to expedite project approvals and resolve administrative hurdles.
