Lego has opened a $1 billion factory in Binh Duong, Vietnam, aiming to run entirely on clean energy by 2026.
Spanning 62 soccer fields, it’s Vietnam’s first fully clean-energy-powered factory and features 12,400 solar panels and an energy storage system. The highly automated facility will produce Lego bricks for Southeast Asia, employing thousands of skilled workers. This move supports both Lego’s target of net-zero emissions by 2050 and Vietnam’s green energy goals. The factory benefits from a new policy allowing direct clean energy purchases and serves as a blueprint for sustainable manufacturing. It also replaces plastic packaging with paper and plants twice the number of trees it removed, showcasing Lego’s commitment to eco-friendly operations and innovation.
