India’s Clean Energy Surge: 205 GW Milestone

India has emerged as a clean energy superpower, surpassing 205 GW of installed renewable capacity by 2024. According to the IEA, India’s renewable capacity is projected to quadruple to 62 GW by 2030, outpacing major economies, including China. In 2024, 24.72 GW was added, with 20.85 GW solar and 3.22 GW wind. The PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana saw 1.5 crore registrations and 6.85 lakh rooftop solar installations, offering free electricity up to 300 units monthly. With $32 billion investments planned for green hydrogen and renewable projects in 2025, India is leading the clean energy revolution.
