Empowered Women, Energised Future: Driving India’s 500 GW Clean Energy Goal
60% Women in Energy Sector Call for Gender-Responsive Policies: IESA Report.
A recent report by the India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA) reveals that 60% of women professionals in India’s energy sector are advocating for gender-responsive policies to help meet the nation’s 500 GW renewable energy target by 2030. Conducted across 26 states, the study highlights the critical need for inclusive policy and regulatory frameworks to enhance women's participation in the clean energy workforce. The report underscores that women are not just contributors, but leaders in India's energy transition. With government initiatives like PM Surya Ghar, PM-KUSUM, and the National Green Hydrogen Mission, the sector is poised to harness women’s full potential. IESA President Debmalya Sen emphasised that women are leading from the frontlines, pushing the boundaries of innovation and sustainability. As a key industry body promoting energy storage, e-mobility, and green hydrogen, IESA continues to advocate for a more inclusive and equitable renewable energy ecosystem across India.
