India and Singapore Develop Roadmap for Digital Maritime Corridor and Green Shipping.

India and Singapore are jointly working on a roadmap to establish infrastructure for a digital maritime corridor and promote green shipping, marking a significant step in bilateral maritime cooperation. The initiative is aligned with global decarbonisation efforts as the shipping industry transitions toward environmentally sustainable operations. Vijay Kumar, Secretary at the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, said the roadmap would form the basis of a proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two nations, detailing infrastructure and collaboration frameworks. Speaking on the sidelines of Singapore Maritime Week, Kumar highlighted that the partnership reflects a broader commitment to adopt digital solutions and cleaner technologies in maritime logistics and shipping operations. The proposed digital corridor is expected to enhance efficiency, transparency, and data sharing between ports, while green shipping initiatives will focus on reducing emissions and supporting sustainable maritime trade. The collaboration underscores India and Singapore’s shared vision of building a future-ready, environmentally responsible maritime ecosystem.
