Shinde Announces Comprehensive Development Plan for Thane.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has rolled out a comprehensive development plan for Thane district, focusing on traffic decongestion, modernised public services, and flood relief measures. Chairing a district planning committee meeting, Shinde said the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) will form an expert panel to propose permanent traffic solutions, including drone and AI-based systems. He also directed the upgradation of all primary health centres into smart health centres and the conversion of zilla parishad and municipal schools into smart schools, with funding support through CSR and public participation. The plan further includes developing 39 tourist spots with an “Explore Thane” app, rooftop solar projects for government offices, taluka sports complexes, and natural farming expansion. Shinde emphasised timely flood relief, repair of damaged infrastructure, and support for farmers, affirming the government’s commitment to relax norms if needed to ensure assistance.
